Job Description

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing RJ programs and services designed to increase community capacity to incorporate restorative practices and responses, within our service area. Additionally, through co-facilitation, the Program Coordinator will lead program participants through RJ processes from the time a referral is received until the agreement for resolution between the parties is met and the file is closed.

Responsibilities include:



Accepting/directing RJ referrals from the Court and community, ensuring a seamless and timely referral process. Acting as a liaison to build relations with the Crown, local defense bar, RCMP and other referring agencies. Working collaboratively with the Executive Director to meet objectives as per grant funding and strategic plan. Developing and maintaining documentation as it pertains to evaluation, data collection and reporting. Administering RJ referrals from the RCMP, Victim Services, Courts, schools, and community including timely communication and collaboration with referral agencies and program participants, case management and preparation, co-facilitation of RJ processes, follow up, and file closure. Coordinating and attending docket court, committee meetings and community events across our service area. Overseeing community outreach projects, social media research/engagement, collaboration, and capacity building opportunities.

Qualifications:



Understanding of RJ principles and philosophy. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple parties including referral agencies. Must demonstrate capability and experience working with people impacted by harm and/or trauma and have working knowledge of what it means to provide victim-led services. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work cohesively in a small team, co-located with Stepping Up: North Peace Society for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. Ability to work independently, take initiative and show integrity. Understanding of the criminal justice system, coupled with the ability to attend/represent RJ in docket courts as needed across our service area. Experience in facilitation, working with both adults and youth (aged 12 to 24) in individual and group environments, including school/educational settings. Training/experience working within a recognized restorative justice facilitation model OR relevant experience in a similar field is considered an asset. Experience in program coordination in a non-profit setting. Excellent conflict management, communication and listening skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Teams.

Terms:

Start date as soon as possible. Some travel and evening/weekend work is required. Position offer is subject to satisfactory completion of references and criminal/vulnerable sector checks. RCMP or other security clearance may be required.
