This position will work closely with the Elected Leadership of the Lethbridge & Area Metis Association to meet organizational goals and objectives. Interacting with many different types of people this role will require someone who is outgoing, personable and possesses the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate and facilitate cultural programming sessions, including initiating partnership conversations with Metis Knowledge Keepers in our community and building relationships with key individuals and organisations.

Duties include:
Event and program management ensuring all logistics are established and followed
Attend all events to support staff and volunteers and ensure compliance to safety, program expectations, and Association policies and procedures.
Program facilitation recruitment
Volunteer recruitment, screening, orientation and support
Assist with special projects as assigned
Follow reporting procedures for programs and events
Management:
Managing general association activities related to office operations, including:
Coordination of meetings, including scheduling for multiple participants
Maintain technology and information systems including, but not limited to; filing, annual reporting requirements
Maintain a clean and organised office environment
Council Support and Strategic Planning:
In collaboration with the Elected Council, establishing plans to support strategic initiatives that meet organizational goals and objectives.
Assists Council members with travel arrangements, lodging, and meal planning as needed
Maintains discretion and confidentiality in relationships with all Council members
Adhere to compliance with applicable rules and regulations set in bylaws regarding board and board committee matters
Communications:
Assist with professional communications including, but not limited to:
Public service announcements, Newsletters
Social Media
Email management
Respond to inquiries on behalf of the Council
Act as a primary point of contact for selected partnerships as advised by Council
Other Duties as Assigned
Special projects may arise, as assigned by the Senior Administrator in collaboration with the Executive Council.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Management or Business Administration preferred, other equivalent education will be considered
1-3 Years of experience in a similar role
Knowledge of Metis culture, politics and history (Preferred)
Valid Class 5 Driver License with reliable transportation
Clean criminal record check (Required)
Hours of work
Up to 37.5 hrs per week.
While the schedule is flexible, some evenings and weekends are required.
