Are you a Program Coordinator looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Recreation Therapy/Adult Day Services department.
In accordance with the vision and values of the organization and as a member of the multidisciplinary team within a client and family centered model of care, the Program Coordinator (PC I) plans, develops, implements and evaluates general recreational/leisure programs designed to support residents'/clients' health and well-being in residential, acute and/or adult day program settings. The PC I may supervise up to four Activity Worker II positions and provides direction to designated volunteers. Under the clinical direction of a Recreation Therapist or appropriate designate (ie. OT, RN), the PC I carries out therapeutic components of a resident's care plan as an assigned task, and assists with the monitoring the patients'/residents' progression.

Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
Mountainview Lodge
is a single level building attached to the Kitimat General Hospital & Health Centre. The building is situated within walking distance of physicians' offices. There are 36 beds, three designated for respite and three short stay beds. There is a monthly recreational calendar displaying a variety of activities intended to promote physical, social, spiritual and emotional well-being. Hairdresser and barber services are available onsite. Hairdresser services are available for a fee determined by the Kitimat Hospital Auxiliary. Mountainview Lodge also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program.
Kitimat
Set in a beautiful and natural ocean, mountain and valley paradise, Kitimat is located on the Douglas Channel just a few miles off British Columbia's inside passage. Kitimat was built in the 1950's and is one of BC's youngest coastal communities. Main industries include an aluminum smelter, a pulp and paper mill and a petrochemical manufacturer. The population of Kitimat is approximately 8,236. The community has three elementary schools, two secondary schools, and one post-secondary school. Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized recreational program plus one years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
An appropriate valid Class IV vehicle license as required.
Skills and Abilities:

Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
