The Business and Education Partnership of Waterloo Region (BEP) is a charity dedicated to ensuring every young person in Waterloo Region can build their path to rewarding careers. We are hiring a

Program Coordinator

to promote, organize and facilitate opportunities for career conversations between K-12 students and industry professionals in Waterloo Region from November 2025 to July 2026.

The role involves coordinating large-scale career events, recruiting and screening volunteers, and engaging with community and business partners to enhance program success.

Key Responsibilities



Coordinate program promotion with school board staff and other community partners Coordinate schedule and logistics for each event with individual educators or other contacts Schedule and coordinate the necessary number of staff and volunteers for each session Procure, prepare, transport and distribute materials for each session Facilitate sessions, ensuring a welcoming environment, compliance with school protocols and high level of student engagement Provide guidance and direction to volunteers, staff, partners and participants at events Administer the completion of surveys from participants Ensure appropriate promotional content is shared with communications staff Recruit, screen and train prospective volunteers career speakers/coaches Track and update volunteer information and participation as required Track expenses against the program budget Report on program results for management, funders and other partners Identify opportunities to continue improving program effectiveness Participate in regular team meetings with colleagues Provide support to other BEP events and activities as needed

Qualifications include:



Strong organizational and event planning skills, including the ability to independently plan and prioritize a high volume of tasks Strong English language writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to address large audiences, facilitate learning experiences, and effectively respond to concerns Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including individual youth participants, volunteers, and community partners A high degree of patience, tact and problem-solving skills Proficiency or ability to quickly become proficient with relevant IT tools including Google Workspace and Salesforce Ability to travel frequently within the Region of Waterloo for events and meetings

Personal interest in making a difference in the lives of young people Experience working in a non-profit or charity and/or managing volunteers Knowledge of career development, especially relating to youth Familiarity with the Ontario K-12 education system, especially in the Region of Waterloo Existing professional network in the Region of Waterloo Experience in marketing / not-for-profit communications

Terms of Employment:



Fixed term contract starting as soon as possible to July 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension contingent on funding Hours of work: 35 hours/week, primarily 8AM - 4PM but with some flexibility required for earlier school schedules and evening events Expected compensation: $25 - $27.50/hour + 4% vacation pay and two weeks' paid vacation during the school Winter Break Work location: Some work-from-home flexibility, but the role requires 1-5 days on-site per week at school locations and/or at the BEP office A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition of employment
