Job Overview:
KCC is seeking a dedicated and skilled HCA Program Coordinator to oversee the coordination and delivery of our Health Care Assistant (HCA) Program. This position is integral to ensuring students receive high-quality education, both in theory and in clinical practice, in alignment with institutional goals and regulatory standards.
As the HCA Program Coordinator, you will report to the Regional Director and be responsible for managing the HCA program, which includes coordinating clinical placements, supporting instructors, ensuring compliance with PTIRU standards, and providing mentorship to students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, a passion for teaching, and the ability to lead a team to support student success.

Requirements:
Current Registration
with the
BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
as an LPN, RN, or RPN.
At least Two Years of Nursing Experience
in a clinical or healthcare setting.
Educational Credentials
: Proof of nursing qualifications (diplomas, certifications, registrations).
Experience in Adult Education
: Preference given to candidates with experience in teaching or training adults in a healthcare setting. Completion of the
Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP)
or equivalent is highly preferred.
Indigenous Cultural Safety Training
: Proof of completion of an
Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility
course (e.g.,
San'yas Anti-Racism Indigenous Cultural Safety Training
).
Health Care Assistant Practice in BC Course
:
Completion of this course is mandatory
to support understanding of the HCA role in BC. If you have already completed it, please submit your certificate. If not, completion will be required if shortlisted.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination
: Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the HCA program, ensuring alignment with PTIRU standards, registry requirements, and institutional goals.
Clinical Coordination
: Manage the logistics and coordination of clinical placements, working closely with healthcare providers to ensure students gain practical, hands-on experience in relevant settings.
Curriculum Support
: Assist in the delivery of both theory and clinical components of the HCA program. Ensure the curriculum meets the registry and PTIRU requirements and adheres to healthcare industry standards.
Student Support
: Provide mentorship and guidance to students, ensuring they meet learning outcomes. Monitor academic progress and address any student challenges to ensure success.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
: Maintain compliance with PTIRU regulations, ensuring all educational practices and assessments meet accreditation standards.
Collaboration and Communication
: Foster strong relationships with healthcare providers, faculty, students, and stakeholders to ensure a high-quality educational experience.
