Your opportunity:

The Centre for Professional Development (CPD) at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing is engaged in developing and delivering courses to professional nurses as part of a larger program of continuing professional nursing education and life-long professional growth.

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, CPD, and under the functional direction of the Chief Administrative Officer with regard to Faculty administrative matters, the incumbent undertakes a broad range of activities in support of the Centre for Professional Development, including supporting educational online learning and in-person educational events; communication, marketing and outreach, financial and general administration.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Conducting market research and analysis
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material
  • Maintaining course information on student information systems
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of program advantages compared to competitor programs
  • Keeping well-informed on changes to courses, program requirements, policies and procedures
  • Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course requirements
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience supporting educational learning and providing administrative support, in an academic environment working with students, preferably in a continuing education/professional development environment
  • Experience with cost and revenue tracking and preparation of financial projections
  • Experience with event coordination
  • Experience with committee support, including minute-taking
  • Demonstrated experience editing and revising course material and updating course documents and resources
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills, including editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience with web and print publishing
  • Skill with webcasting and audio-visual equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 10 kg
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Knowledge of health care education is considered an asset
  • Experience with Quercus or related learning management software
