Job Description

We are seeking an organized and passionate Program and Site Manager to strengthen Shoresh's impact through thoughtful program coordination, dynamic site stewardship, and collaborative team leadership. The Program and Site Manager will play a central role in bringing Shoresh's mission to life by overseeing the logistics, facilitation, and evaluation of our nature-based Jewish education programs, as well as coordinating Shoresh's unique outdoor programming at Bela Farm and the Sherman Forest. We're looking for someone who is both detail-oriented and mission-driven; someone who believes in experiential education, can juggle logistics with grace, and is excited to lead alongside a passionate team.

Key Responsibilities



Program Logistics and Facilitation

Oversee the development and maintenance of program administrative systems and structures to ensure organizational effectiveness in managing program budgets, bookings, and registrations; distributing products to program participants; data tracking and record keeping; etc.

Oversee the development and implementation of systems, structures, and record keeping of signature and external program documents and curriculum materials, including overseeing the hiring process for all educational staff; Manage program inquiries, bookings, and registrations; logistics; and follow-up for external programs, including coordinating and facilitating bookings at Bela Farm; Manage protocols and procedures for program operations; Supervise Program Coordinators: With prioritization and effective workflow; By overseeing the coordination of program registration, logistics, and communications for signature Shoresh programs; In sourcing and creating educational materials and content; Facilitate Shoresh programs: As a Lead Educator on 1-2 signature Shoresh programs; External and/or signature Shoresh programs as needed; Evaluate programming and partnerships, and record impact data to be used for granting, marketing, and donor communications.
Program Sites (Bela Farm and Sherman Forest)

Oversee the management and stewardship of Bela Farm and the Sherman Forest:

Create and execute stewardship and maintenance plans for both sites; Oversee and liaise with external site-specific contract and maintenance workers; Manage the ordering, planting, and sourcing of tools and materials; Oversee programming at program sites, including stewardship days, events (e.g. festivals, Honey Harvests), and other Shoresh programs; Oversee and liaise with volunteers at Bela Farm and the Sherman Forest; Manage and participate in the stewardship/manual labour of these sites; Ensure supplies are kept, tools are in working order, and First Aid kits are up-to-date; Evaluate on-site programming and partnerships and record data to be used for granting, marketing, and donor communications.
Marketing and Communications Support

Liaise with Marketing and Communications staff to ensure Shoresh is represented at community events; Support with the development of educational content for Shoresh's social media and newsletter communications; Keep Marketing and Communications staff informed of program registration numbers and recruitment needs; Engage in direct recruitment for program participants through Shoresh networks.

Schedule and Supervision



This is a full-time position; 35 hours per week, typically Monday-Thursday with some Sundays, evenings, and occasional full weekends (Friday-Sunday)/.Some flexible/remote work is possible (1-2 days/week). You will be supervised by the Executive Director. Start date is August 10, 2025. This is a one year contract, with potential for extension.

Locations include the Shoresh office located in downtown Toronto (most workdays), parks around the city, and occasionally Bela Farm (Hilsburgh, Ontario) and Sherman Forest (King City).

Compensation and Benefits



This is a salaried position, and the annual salary is $56,420.00. Compensation also includes health care and dental coverage (after a 3 month probationary period), paid vacation, professional development opportunities, and paid time off for religious Jewish holidays.

Qualifications



We are looking for someone with experience in:

Google Suite including Sheets, Docs, and Forms; Supervising employees; Jewish education and/or familiarity with Jewish values, teachings, and practices; Outdoor education and/or familiarity with the natural world and with education.
We are seeking someone who possesses the following personal qualities:

Timely and effective decision-making with limited information; Team worker, strong communicator, ability to give and receive constructive feedback; Organized and logistically minded; Comfortable spending all day outdoors in all kinds of weather, able to adapt to deliver programming in all weather conditions, and to change the plan to match the weather.
Other:

Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (can be through car share); Experience working in the charitable/non-profit sector.
