To achieve this goal, Workplace Initiatives partners with organizations, business and industry to ensure Nova Scotia employers have the Human Resources and skilled workforce that they need to succeed.About Our OpportunityAs the Program Administration Officer 1-2, you will be responsible for the administration of the provincial Workplace Initiatives programs on behalf of the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration (LSI). You will be responsible for managing organizational funding agreements throughout the entire agreement life cycle, from receipt of application to close out of the agreement. You will also provide support to communities, employers and individuals in their efforts to understand how LSI programming can best fit with their labour market needs.You will work with community groups, employers and individuals to develop proposals that respond to their labour market needs as well as help community groups, employers and individuals understand program terms and conditions, so they can appropriately make application for funding. You will make recommendations that will result in a decision to either approve or deny the funding of an application.As the Program Administration Officer 1-2 you will report to the Manager, Sector Initiatives.Qualifications and ExperienceThis may be the right opportunity for you if you have a bachelor's degree in a related field, with a minimum of 1 year of related experience; an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.You have previous experience or education in finance and accounting related to business and/or government operations; experience in negotiation; and knowledge and understanding of the challenges job seekers and employers face as a result of current labour market conditions.You are comfortable working independently as well as within a team environment, working within a broad community network and/or partnerships. You have previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with an ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. You have a strong attention to detail, with an ability to think clearly, possessing above average interpersonal skills.
