Our Health, Wellness and Sciences Portfolio offers a wide variety of health-related programs that prepares students to support the health and wellness of our communities. Students gain the requisite knowledge and skills through a combination of classroom, laboratory and experiential learning in a clinical setting. Our state-of-the-art simulation labs provide students with hands-on, practical training with equipment they use on the job and gain real-world experience and develop specialized skills in the Health and Wellness Clinics.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a full - time Professor to support the Georgian College School of Nursing, which includes Practical Nursing, Honours Bachelor of Science - Nursing degree and Honours Bachelor of Science - Nursing RPN to BScN Advanced Standing Pathway (Bridge) programs. As a faculty member with the School of Nursing, you will have the opportunity to apply your passion for the nursing profession, teaching our future nursing professionals, engaging in research and sharing your rich experience with students. By creating a supportive and effective learning environment, you will enable students to achieve their full academic potential as well as the College of Nurses of Ontario Entry to Practice Competencies.
This position will be assigned a Fall/Winter rotation but teaching assignments may be changed by the Dean/Associate Dean to occur in any of the three semesters.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, deliver and evaluate a wide variety of courses in nursing programs. This includes theory, lab and simulation-based curriculum.
Evaluate student progress / achievement
Maintain subject matter expertise through professional development and research, contact with industry partners, other educational institutions and/or professional bodies
Create and maintain a positive learning environment
Contribute to the scholarship and research activities within a degree granting environment
Incorporate a variety of learning / teaching strategies and technologies to meet student needs
Participate in portfolio / academic / campus and college-wide activities as required
Actively collaborate in School of Nursing program specific committees.
Participate in course / curriculum revision, program revision and renewal activities
Develop alternative delivery strategies, and online course development and teaching, as required

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in nursing is required
Master's degree in nursing or related field (e.g. Education, Leadership) is required
Ph.D. or terminal degree in Nursing or related field is preferred
Must possess and maintain current registration, in good standing, as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Previous teaching experience at a postsecondary level and/or adult training experience
Active research track record or strong potential to develop an active research dossier
Experience with some or all of the following: curriculum development and evaluation, simulation pedagogy (medium and/or high fidelity), universal design for learning, a variety of delivery strategies, adult teaching and learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
Experience with intra and inter-professional collaborative models of care and/or inter-professional education
Ability to effectively integrate new technology into teaching and learning
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to contribute to, and work in, a positive team environment and to foster the same in students
Commitment to life-long learning
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite
Additional Asset / Preferred:
Experience in any of the following areas would be an asset: Medical- surgical nursing, leadership, and/or simulation ( medium and high-fidelity simulation)
Experience with online course development and instruction
Computer literacy: Learning Management System / Web Delivery Software (i.e. Blackboard) and Student Information Systems
The ability to teach in more than one related program area
