Dedicated to the life of its citizens, the City\'s mission is to ensure that the quality of its social, cultural and economic environment is maintained for citizens today as well as future generations.Description:Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Cultural Recreation at Stewart Hall, the incumbent will create and teach art classes for adult clients. These courses must be taught and prepared independently to communicate and develop artistic skills with the participants.Departmental mission:The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to provide quality services, programs and facilities that promote the maximum participation and integration of all Pointe-Claire citizens. This department can count on a qualified and professional workforce dedicated to the quality of life of Pointe-Claire citizens.General responsibilities and goals:The incumbent\'s main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Design art courses around themes and established skills.
  • Teach said courses to groups of adults (notions in the practice of collage and drawing).
  • Plan the lists of materials related to the courses.
Job requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor\'s degree in visual arts, arts education.
  • Have three (3) to five (5) years of experience teaching arts visual arts or leading artistic workshops.
  • Know how to effectively transmit information related to artistic notions and theories according to the specificities of the target audiences.
  • Know how to manage groups.
  • Be autonomous.
  • Be punctual.
  • Be creative.
  • The position requires fluency in English and French-the jobholder must be able to carry on a conversation, participate in a work meeting and write short texts or internal reports in both languages.
Schedule:September to December, 3.5 hours per week, Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (includes 30-minutes of preparation time per class)Footnote:
