The Opportunity:

A full-time Professor of Aviation to provide academic instruction to Aviation students at the College level. In addition to supporting flight instruction, the incumbent will be responsible for curriculum development, teaching assigned courses, and the provision of academic leadership. We are looking to bring the knowledge gained from experience as a Professional Aviation career to our students. Our integrated flight training program provides extensive training to prepare our students to be professional pilots so subject matter experts in meteorology, navigation, flight planning, aviation law, human factors, crew resource management, avionics, aircraft systems and engines are invited to consider a career in teaching with Sault College. Hands and feet skills are essential but not sufficient to be an accomplished Professional Pilot.



What you need to be successful:




an Aviation, Technical or Business Degree Commercial Pilot Licence with valid Instrument Rating, + 500 hours experience as Pilot in Command of multiengine aircraft desired
Flight Instructor Rating with successful flight test record + Class 1 or 2 rating preferred
experience in 604, 703, 704 or 705 operations + flight crew experience desired
experience as Flight Service Specialist, Air Traffic Control or Aircraft Maintenance would be an asset College Aviation teaching experience or teaching credentials considered assets strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success demonstrated excellent flying skills knowledge of business productivity software, documentation, spreadsheet and database software packages

Sault College provides an attractive total compensation package, encompassing competitive wages/salaries, a defined benefit pension plan, group insurance benefits, and a variety of employee perks. This is a full-time academic bargaining unit position. Salary range is $73,079 to $126,689 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
