Responsibilities:
As a Professional Intern in our Legal and Legislative Services department, you will be responsible for coordinating the operational and administrative functions related to the management of business unit policies and corporate directives.


Working closely with various stakeholders, you\xe2\x80\x99ll support all aspects of the policy management process, including consultation, development, review, approval, communication, and implementation. This role requires a high level of discretion to protect confidential corporate information. Qualifications: To be eligible for our Professional Internship program you must:

  • Be enrolled in at least a two-year program (diploma or degree) at a recognized university or college in Manitoba with a focus in Social Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or Commerce.
  • Be a recent or current graduate (i.e. must have graduated at the end of 2022 or graduating in 2023).
Special Skills:
  • General knowledge of key MPI product and service offerings including Basic Autopac, Extension products, The Personal Injury Protection Plan (PIPP), driver\xe2\x80\x99s licences and identification cards, and vehicle registration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to critically assess different scenarios and determine possible courses of action, based on clear understanding of corporate directives and applicable legislation, best practices for records management and handling practices, and business ethics.
  • Strong judgment, diplomacy, and political acumen, specifically regarding sensitive issues and inquiries.
  • Ability to compose and prepare correspondence, documentation, spreadsheets, presentations, and perform other administrative tasks.
  • Experience working with legislative or regulatory compliance is an asset.
