Job Summary

Steed Standard Transport Limited is seeking a

Professional Driver/Driver Trainer

to join our team in Stratford, Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for training employees to operate company vehicles safely and professionally, while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a Dual Hybrid position of regular AZ driving including Ontario, and cross border runs, as well as some driver trainer responsibilities

Driver Trainer assistance role would involve such roles as:

Deliver hands-on training and coaching to drivers, including pre-hire road testing and evaluations. Monitor compliance with DOT, MTO, C-TPAT, and company policies. Conduct incident investigations and post-incident training. Provide training on ELD systems, hours of service, and forklift certification. Collaborate with safety, dispatch, and management teams to improve driver performance and service KPIs. Maintain accurate records of evaluations and progress reports. Promote a culture of safety and professionalism across all operations.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Ontario Class AZ driver's license with acceptable CVOR. 5+ years of AZ driving experience with a minumum 5 year clean driving record (Required). 2+ years of driver training experience (Required). Driver Trainer Certificate and Air Brake Instructor Certificate (strong asset). Completion of Train the Trainer course (required). Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Computer proficiency and thorough knowledge of ELD systems and HOS.

Physical & Working Conditions:

Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing and kneeling. Exposure to inclement weather, road hazards, and long hours. PPE required: CSA-approved footwear, high-visibility clothing, gloves, glasses, etc. Must comply with Health & Safety regulations and company safety policies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
