Primary Responsibilities
Ensure bags of shrimp are filled with the proper count size. Ensure bags of shrimp are filled with the proper weight (10kg or 2.5kg). Pass filled bags through sealer ensuring a proper seal and proper, legible date. Pass sealed bags through metal detector while watching for alert. Communicate any issues to QA (equipment malfunction, quality, count, metal detection, etc.). Fill out associated paperwork properly, following good documentation practices. Keep work areas clean and tidy
Perform inspection of shrimp along conveyor belt by removing any intrinsic material (shell, legs, eyes, heads,) Tainted Decomposed or Unwholesome product, discoloring or any foreign extrinsic material.
Communicate any quality-related issues to Management and/or QA employees.
Additional Responsibilities
Keep work area clean and tidy.
Qualifications
• Ability to work well with others and without direct supervision
• Ability to understand and follow employee hygiene and workplace procedures.
• Be WHMIS trained and certified.
• Be trained by chemical provider in the Food Plant Sanitation program.
