As an Insulated Glass (IG) Offloader you will be responsible for safely removing IG units from production lines and preparing them for storage or shipment. This role ensures product quality, maintains workflow efficiency, and adheres to all safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Offload IG units from the production line in a safe and timely manner based on type, size, or quality to prepare them for further processing or shipment.
Inspect glass for defects, damages, or quality issues before packaging or staging.
Separate damaged products from those that are in good condition and report issues to supervisors for further action.
Properly label and stage IG units based on client orders and shipping requirements.
Arrange products on racks according to specifications to help optimize space and make the products accessible for further handling or processing.
Utilize suction cups and other handling equipment to move glass safely.
Maintain accurate counts and records of completed units.
Collaborate with other workers to ensure that production goals are met, and workflows are efficient.
Assist with various tasks involved in the production process, which may include setting up machinery, monitoring production runs, and making adjustments as needed.
Engage in elemental activities related to maintaining production efficiency, such as checking inventory levels, replenishing supplies, and ensuring that production workflows are smooth.
Notify management of any deviations in production quality, performance, or other roadblocks and implement corrective actions as directed.
Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and management to ensure seamless operations and timely production.
Ensure all operations are performed in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), company safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with oven operators and other team members to execute operational maintenance related tasks.
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with machinery and glass products and components; encourage a culture of safety on the production floor.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following housekeeping standards to promote safety and efficiency.
Comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies in all aspects of the job.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes.
Perform additional tasks as needed based on production demands, company needs, or supervisory requests.
Required Qualifications
Good communication skills to interact with team members and management.
Experience with safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to stand throughout the entire time on shift.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently and through entirety of shift.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks, in a continuous manner, in a fast-paced environment, including lifting and extending arms through entirety of shift.
Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
