Production Supervisor

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to support our production plant in Kitchener, Ontario.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. This role monitors equipment and workflow, and ensures efficient use of materials and labor.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, organize, and direct assigned personnel to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Perform duties and monitor operations as required to operate batch polymerization and other processes in a consistent manner. Thoroughly understand the operation of equipment, controls and polymerization process to react appropriately to non-routine situations and/or alarms. Troubleshoot any operational or potential problems/alarms/situations. Interface with maintenance to execute routine and/or preventative maintenance on plant equipment. Boiler operation and monitoring. Perform materials handling functions as required. Perform training and qualification of new employees as required. Perform inventory duties as required. Operate control panel to control process parameters as required.

Strong planning and organizational competencies Demonstrated leadership competencies Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in complex processes. Thorough understanding of controls, equipment and polymerization process Standard First Aid Certificate

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

2-5 years supervisory experience in chemical process operations preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically fit, have full range of motion to perform work, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. On-site work area environment inside and outside, at heights, working in heat, cold, wetness, wind, dust, rain, snow and noise. * Shift work, overtime and weekend work will be required.
