Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor
to lead daily manufacturing operations across key departments, including Sheet Metal Fabrication, Machining, Bonding, Processing, and Assembly. This role plays a vital part in meeting production targets while promoting safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on knowledge of manufacturing operations, and a commitment to maintaining high health & safety standards. This is a fast-paced, people-focused role requiring excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all afternoon shift operations across multiple production departments.
Ensure production schedules are met with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, providing support, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
Enforce all health and safety regulations, including machine safety, material handling, and use of hazardous substances.
Monitor equipment and resolve operational issues in real time to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Maintain accurate shift documentation, pass-down reports, and daily production records.
Lead and participate in coaching, training, and performance development initiatives.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement among production employees.
Qualifications / Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations such as fabrication, machining, bonding, processing, and assembly.
Proven success managing shift production teams and coordinating cross-functional activities.
In-depth knowledge of OHSA and other industrial health & safety legislation and best practices.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-paced environments.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
