Located in the West Island of Montreal, in Pointe-Claire, our factory is looking for a Production Supervisor (Evening Shift) to join our great team. The position requires supervising 20-30 unionized employees on rotating shifts and achieving plant goals by effectively coordinating the workforce, working in conjunction with other production supervisors and complying with policies and health and safety regulations. Permanent full-time position. Excellent working conditions, competitive compensation, group insurance plan, pension plan. Free parking is available.

  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, evening shift, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Supervision
  • Plan work and distribute tasks to employees
  • Apply company policies
  • Complete and approve payroll timesheets
  • Ensure the use of PPE and zero tolerance for unsafe work methods
  • Apply the collective agreement in place: vacation, personal days and bonuses, internal postings, seniority, etc.
  • Apply the disciplinary process in his department.
  • Collaborate with HR to address employee inquiries
Performance management
  • Report daily department results at daily meetings.
  • Identification of corrective actions: By consulting stakeholders, reflect on and implement corrective actions.
  • Find out from stakeholders about the priorities and needs in the plant.
  • Based on the needs expressed by stakeholders, coordinate the production of painted and cut rolls.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance supervisor to do preventive maintenance and repair of departmental equipment.
  • Give appropriate feedback to employees.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process and recognize opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with existing budgets.
  • Complete the monthly occupational health and safety training.
  • Perform health and safety audits.
Administration
  • Produce or complete the necessary administrative forms: HR, quality management, etc.
  • Follow up with appropriate telephone and email follow-ups.
  • Complete the daily results tables.
  • Production of reports: Excel, percentages, Pareto analysis, etc.
  • Quality management
  • Report quality issues to the quality department.
  • Collaborate with the director of quality in the investigation of quality problems and the implementation of corrective actions


Qualifications
Experience / education / skills
  • Technical in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience in the manufacturing environment as a supervisor.
  • Technical knowledge in industrial mechanics and / or electromechanics and instrumentation, an asset.
  • Experience in a unionized environment an asset.
  • Computer skills - Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Bilingualism, English and French, written and spoken.
  • The ability to work in a team.
  • Demonstrate leadership, autonomy and self-confidence.
  • Ability to make and maintain decisions under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and excellent communication skills necessary to build internal and external relationships, i.e. professionalism, tact, courtesy, coaching / training
