Job Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the work of employees under their supervision. They ensure effective management and coordination of the production department, focusing on efficiency, quality compliance, meeting deadlines, and cost control. The Production Manager also enforces health and safety regulations by promoting and applying safe work practices. This role involves close collaboration with other departments such as planning, engineering, purchasing, design, and other production teams.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and monitor the production schedule while optimizing resources (human, material, etc.) Supervise daily production operations to ensure optimal efficiency and minimize downtime Ensure compliance with quality standards and work procedures Resolve operational issues and production obstacles in collaboration with relevant departments Identify opportunities for improvement within the production department to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality Implement continuous improvement initiatives and manage related projects in collaboration with R&D, encouraging innovation within the production team Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, probation, and training of department staff Evaluate employee performance, set objectives, and conduct regular follow-ups Validate worked hours in the system and monitor attendance Track production KPIs and department objectives Analyze production data to identify issues or trends and implement corrective actions Ensure compliance with health and safety rules and procedures Promote and raise awareness among employees about safe work practices Identify health and safety risks or areas for improvement and recommend preventive or corrective measures Conduct appropriate disciplinary or administrative actions with team members as needed

Education and Experience Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in personnel management within a manufacturing environment Experience in project management related to production Strong technical knowledge (product and processes) to support the team effectively Solid understanding of the constraints and challenges of other departments

Key Competencies Required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Knowledge of ERP systems (an asset) Proficiency in French (oral and written) Knowledge of English (an asset) Autonomy, initiative, versatility, and sound judgment Innovative mindset (ability to suggest alternative solutions) Strong stress tolerance and flexibility, with availability outside regular working hours when needed * Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
