Position Overview
We are seeking a
hands-on and detail-oriented Night Shift Quality & Production Supervisor
to oversee our evening operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy and accountability -- ensuring smooth production flow, consistent product quality, and a safe work environment during off-hours.
As the senior leader on-site during the night shift, you'll coordinate production activities, maintain quality control standards, and ensure team performance aligns with company goals. The ideal candidate will have had experience in an
automotive or industrial manufacturing
environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Quality Leadership
Supervise all night shift production activities, ensuring targets and quality standards are consistently met.
Oversee in-process and final inspections, addressing any deviations or non-conformances promptly.
Complete and maintain accurate Quality Reports, NCRs, and shift documentation.
Monitor workflow and proactively assign tasks to maintain productivity and efficiency.
Lead process checks and ensure SOPs and quality standards are followed at every stage.
Maintain a strong floor presence to support staff, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues in real time.
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Conduct safety walk-throughs and maintain an organized, hazard-free workspace.
Report and document any incidents, near-misses, or maintenance issues immediately.
Lead by example to uphold a culture of accountability, safety, and respect.
Inventory & Equipment Coordination
Monitor inventory levels for powders, materials, and packaging; communicate replenishment needs.
Verify materials are logged accurately in
PFC
and related tracking systems.
Coordinate with maintenance and day-shift management on equipment adjustments or repairs.
Ensure preventive maintenance checklists are completed and signed off each shift.
Communication & Reporting
Prepare nightly production, quality, and attendance reports.
Communicate progress, challenges, and action items to the Operations Manager and day-shift teams.
Ensure shift handoffs are clear and all documentation is up to date.
Provide timely updates to internal teams and, when necessary, customer representatives.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and motivate production staff to maintain high performance and morale.
Train new employees on production procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Foster a team environment built on collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or surface finishing, preferably within
automotive or industrial production
.
Proven ability to manage teams, enforce quality standards, and maintain production flow with minimal oversight.
Strong understanding of powder coating processes, QA systems, and production documentation.
Proficient with computers for tracking materials and workflow.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Degree/Diploma in Operations Management, Quality Assurance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Forklift certification or mechanical aptitude is an asset, but not required.
