PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR



JASCO is currently looking for a

Production Supervisor

in our Dartmouth, NS (Woodside) location.

Position Overview



As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of the production process to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality product delivery. This role involves scheduling, resource management, workflow optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to meet customer requirements and organizational goals.

NOTE:

This position requires, at a minimum, the ability to successfully complete a "reliability status" security screening. This will require a 5-year criminal record check and a 5-year background check, during which the individual must have resided continuously in Canada to obtain this status in a timely manner.

Responsibilities



Production Planning & Scheduling

Develop and dynamically manage production schedules based on need dates and priorities, ensuring on-time delivery of products Coordinate daily workflow, assigning tasks to technicians and assemblers according to skill sets and project priorities
Quality & Compliance

Ensure production staff are following applicable procedures and work instructions Support internal and external audits related to the Quality Management System Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to document, investigate, and resolve recurring quality issues Verify all products are tested for reliability, performance, and efficiency prior to shipment
Team Leadership & Development

Lead and motivate production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment Identify skill gaps and coordinate training and development opportunities Monitor team performance, recognize achievements, and proactively address issues
Process Improvement

Continually evaluate and improve production processes, methods, and systems to enhance efficiency and consistency Maintain up-to-date process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Engineering to update production documentation as required Partner with Mechanical and Purchasing teams to maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure correct components are ordered Coordinate with Sales to confirm part numbers, configurations, and system descriptions match customer orders
Documentation & Communication

Maintain and update project tracking systems, ensuring accurate shipping and production dates Ensure all supporting documentation (build records, test results, reports) is organized and completed by the production team Communicate potential bottlenecks, supply chain risks, or resource constraints to management
Supplier & Material Management

Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with Purchasing and Quality Control to resolve quality or delivery issues Forecast material needs based on sales projections and production plans, managing lead times to minimize delays

Required Qualifications and Experience



3+ years' experience in production planning, scheduling, or coordination within a manufacturing environment Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Familiarity with quality standards and safety procedures Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners Attention to detail, organization, and quality of work produced Good verbal and written communication skills Willingness and ability to learn Ability to work under pressure

Education



Minimum: College diploma in a relevant technical or business field (such as Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration), or an equivalent combination of education and directly related supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment Formal training in production management and processes Desirable: Formal training in supply chain management Desirable: Formal training in Health & Safety Desirable: J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS/CIT certification
