The incumbent in this position has primary responsibility for planning and directing the manufacturing process activities associated with the production of torsion bars, coils, stabilizer bars and assembly areas. Prime concerns are health and safety, customer satisfaction, establishing manpower requirements, promoting a team atmosphere, quality assurance, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and communication amongst all departments.
Principle Accountabilities:
Ensure a safe workplace, leads the Team to improve Safety in the area and enforces the use of mandated Safety tools and procedures.
Ensure the production plan is met, analyzes issues with other roles, drives and implements continuous improvement activities
Understand losses during the Shift and coordinates activities to improve performance.
Ensure the right allocation of the people on the line, manage absenteeism, train and build teams.
Possess knowledge of the broader manufacturing organization and have the ability to mobilize support groups and resources to lead and assist in problem solving activities.
Ensure team compliance to established policies and standards, including but not limited to safety, quality, attendance, and throughput.
Responsible for the compliance of IATF 16949:2016 and IS014001 procedures and policies.
Responsible for canvassing of overtime during the off-shifts.
Responsible for reporting and investigating all employee work related accidents to Human Resources and the JHSC using established procedure and documentation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
3 or more years' experience in supervision in a high-volume environment
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from production employees to Senior Leadership as required
Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and internal customers
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
Ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
