VPC Group Inc. , is looking for dynamic Production Supervisors to engage our people, delight our customers, and consistently achieve or exceed business expectations in North York, ON. SHIFT TIME: 7:30am- 3:45 pm (Days) & 3:45 pm - 12 am (Afternoon) Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Health and Safety is a precondition of all that is done.
  • Engage employees in building a culture based on respect, teamwork and accomplishment. Lead daily shift meetings with team members; set a positive tone for each day.
  • Manage a production team of hourly direct reports. Provide coaching and guidance. Holds people accountable for their time/attendance, safety, and quality.
  • Provide excellent service to customers, including On-Time-Delivery, as expected quality, and exceptional responsiveness requests. Set and meet/exceed daily production targets.
  • Supports Production Manager in determining areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives and efforts.
  • Be a leader, train personnel on new equipment and review all equipment and safety procedures based on necessity and scheduled reviews. Handle the employees with patience and have active listening skill. Has the ability to relate to employee\'s emotions and is flexible with good judgment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree, preferably in Business Administration
  • Minimum 2-4 years leadership experience in manufacturing environment a must, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles a must
  • Foam manufacturing experience an asset
  • Solid interpersonal skills; experience supervising in a unionized environment an asset
  • Ability to confidently and independently make difficult decisions
  • Strong computer / system skills (MS Office, ADP Workforce Now).
