Production Supervisor

with proven experience in a

unionized manufacturing environment

to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a focus on safety and efficiency, and the ability to foster positive employee relations while meeting production goals.

Hours:



Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am (Hours may adjust periodically as required.)

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Supervise and oversee production operations and productivity of plant employees Maintain continuous flow of production operations to meet deadlines Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure finished products are following quality standards Effectively communicate corrective and preventative actions for quality issues to workers Enforce safe working procedures and good housekeeping practices are always adhered to Ensure employees are following and adhering to Company policies at all times All other duties and projects as assigned

H&S RESPONSIBILITIES:



Follow and comply with the Duties of a Supervisor under section 27 of the OHSA Be involved in accident / incident investigation process as required Conduct safety talks with employees Training of new employee's as part of the orientation process Correct unsafe acts and conditions and/or communicate to appropriate personnel for corrective action Correct and recognize Health and Safety performance Ensure company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all staff and visitors Ensure proper guarding is in working order on all machines and equipment. Enforce the use of guarding while equipment and machines are in operation Adhere to proper lock out/tag out procedures as outlined by the company and provincial health and safety guidelines Ensure protective eyewear and side shields are being worn as well as proper footwear and hi-vis for employees, truck drivers and visitors Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with OHSA standards; that workers are protected from any hazards and such hazards are identified and controlled; and workers use the prescribed safety equipment Perform assigned duties during emergency evacuations

DUTIES:



Supervise and direct plant staff in their work duties Observe and ensure that all employees are following safe work practices Enforce all policies and procedures set out by the company Distribute work orders and ensure completion happens in the sequence outlined by the Production Scheduler. Communicate any potential issues or complications that may disrupt the schedule Coach and correct workers as required for safety infractions and company policy contraventions. Including discipline measures Fulfill additional duties / responsibilities of other supervisors when absent or on vacation Follow up and enforce clean and tidy workstations and aisle ways, including shipping areas (all warehouse /outdoor storage areas) Perform daily walk-through of plant facilities using Supervisor's Daily Checklist Ensure that all workplace inspection sheets are being supplied to and filled out by plant workers Check, verify and sign first offs for welders and machine operators (press/punch, saw) Ensure workers are completing proper jobs and following drawings / specifications given Continuously follow up with Welders, Machine Operators/Coil lines, and Paint line to ensure productivity and quality is at company standards and expectations Oversee and support Paint line Follow up with quality standards, perform and document hourly checks as required, coach and correct all quality issues Perform other tasks as assigned Communicate with all departments regarding employees, production, and equipment issues Attend all continuing education and required job related training provided by the company

Comply with and enforce all health & safety regulations Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures Communicate with all employees in a professional manner Lead by example Coach and correct improper procedures (Never turn a blind eye to something incorrect) Follow through with what you say you will do Be confident and competent
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
