Job Description

As a valuable member of Hammond's Operations Team, this position will have a focus on the development and implementation of activities in our fabrication production areas to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. A proven ability to lead and build strong driven depts that understand the importance of meeting the needs of our customers - both internal and external. This role will work closely with our factory team members, team leaders and support staff and depts like planning, process, quality, and design engineering.

Afternoon-Shift Schedule:

Monday through Thursday, from 4:20 p.m.-2:20 a.m.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in your production areas to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives Lead by example and foster an environment that is safe and enables associates to work to their highest potential Foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. Respond to employees' questions, concerns and address grievances in a professional manner Maintain a clean and tidy and organized department Ensure the safety of employees Accessible to employees and encourage two-way interactions through constructive communication Attend regular production meetings and monitor production loads to review resource needs Develop actions plans and execute to meet our customers' demands and business goals Recognize employees' accomplishments and contributions to KPI's Conduct Rise and Shine Department meetings to communicate plant and department performance and activities and maintain communication boards Implement and maintain Continuous Improvement activities. Work with team to determine root cause and preventative actions. Ensure that expectations of product quality are communicated and monitored. Developing our associates through coaching, counselling, and corrective action steps as necessary. Conduct safety walks, accident and incident investigations and corrective actions in a succinct, thorough and timely manner

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong technical knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes in a sheet metal environment; lasers, NC turrets, press brake, spot / MIG welding, powder painting and assembly. Ability to support and create an environment of proactive positive employee engagement. Ability to multitask and handle diverse assignments while prioritizing job tasks is essential.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Post-secondary education in manufacturing leadership or related discipline 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience 3+ years of experience in a metal fabrication environment
