Production Supervisor (afternoon Shift)

Job Description

The Production Supervisor oversees the day-to-day production operations and staff to ensure timely and efficient workflow. This role is responsible for ensuring productivity targets, quality and safety standards meet company standards. It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to lead a team of workers, oversee employee issues and concerns, provide training, and manage performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Ensure production and staffing meet production targets and objectives; increase production efficiency by organizing manpower, evaluating activities performed, identify bottlenecks and implement improvements Maintain accurate daily shift notes; communicate production statistics, results, health and safety concerns, or any other notable event from the shift to the Plant Manager on a daily basis Create a safety-conscious work environment by taking precautionary measures against accidents, providing proper PPE, monitoring, and enforcing Health and Safety rules and regulations. Lead a team of employees (permanent and temp staffing); drive performance through effective collaboration, coaching, goal setting and performance management; conduct annual performance reviews Monitor process effectiveness and make recommendations on how to improve Ensure employees follow production guidelines and work instructions, and that proper tools are in place and used to complete the job Assist in cross-training of employees to achieve a more flexible, versatile team Monitor usage of materials, track waste and manage resources to effectively reduce waste Other duties and responsibilities as required

Required Skills/Experience / Education:



High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related discipline preferred Minimum of two (2) years' experience in production environment Intermediate level Microsoft (MS) Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills required Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety principles Understanding of legislative requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principles Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) - Fluent in English Proven ability to manage a team; build trust; hold individual team members accountable; lead by example Ability to meet deadlines; follow through; attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot and create resolution Ability to work both individually and in a cross-functional team environment Team player with a customer-centric mindset; positive attitude; results driven; self-motivated; flexible; adapt to and influence change Exhibit high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information; work with integrity Proven ability to lead and motivate a team Excellent analytical, time management, and organizational skills Commitment to high professional and ethical standards Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; role requires flexibility

Physical Requirements:



This job operates within a Production and warehouse space, where temperatures range from 45-80F. The dust levels are higher than normal and noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; bend; twist; use hands to handle or feel product or packaging. The position involves walking and lifting, regularly for audits and product verifications specifically drop test and weight evaluation and audits.
Schedule:

Monday to Friday 3:30pm-12am

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
