Profile Summary:




The Production Shift Manager position oversees daily production activities within the plant. This role ensures efficient staffing and safe operations, while consistently meeting or exceeding quality and production targets, upholding compliance with company policies, food safety standards, health & safety regulations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration. As a key leader on the production floor, this position drives operational efficiency, promotes employee engagement, and champions product excellence.

Specific Accountabilities

:



Lead the daily production activities to meet or exceed quality and production targets Ensure efficient scheduling and staffing Monitor and adjust Roasting schedule Arrange and schedule temporary staffing for all shifts Arrange weekly workstation schedule and Cross training for all shifts Monitor and optimize equipment uptime for Green Bean, Roasting, and Packaging lines. Prepare and arrange all safety training and requirements for all shifts with documentation Responsible for all safety supplies/compliance in the factory. Participate in JHSC meetings and lead improvement initiatives Work with Human Resources to resolve all conflicts, problem areas, and maintain good working relations. Support staff and OEE in all Dept. at all times Balance the floor with available operator skills, monitoring throughput and efficiencies using production metrics and making necessary adjustment to correct deviations. Minimize downtime through liaison with Maintenance, ensuring planned and autonomous maintenance is carried out, effecting basic machine troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments, scheduling and enforcing machine cleaning regimen. Anticipate bottlenecks, slowdowns, peak demands on the process steps and directly intervene in the process to maintain a smooth flow to achieve output Shift handover and reporting Lead or support continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency. Participate in plant audits and ensure readiness for external and internal inspections. Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices. Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices. Other duties as assigned.

Ideal Qualifications:



Technical Diploma in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Food Science or related field. 2-3 years supervisory experience in food or beverage manufacturing Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production setting Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, production workflows, and lean manufacturing principles Strong understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP) and occupational health & Safety regulations Health and Safety Certification, Forklift driver certification a plus Working knowledge of SCADA, MES, SAP, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI). Hands-on experience with batching, production sequencing/scheduling, packaging lines, and material handling. Working knowledge of all areas in the factory, green bean, roasting, grinding, packaging and material handling Strong communication skills and strong leadership and quick decision-making skills. Demonstrated Ability to prioritize work during shortage of staff or equipment breakdown. Ability to cope with high temperatures and humidity in summer months, forklift traffic and slippery floors.
