Position Summary:
The Production Scheduler will play a critical role in ensuring efficient production processes by managing scheduling tasks, coordinating production activities, ordering raw materials, and maintaining accurate inventory. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and is passionate about keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and will require close collaboration with production, suppliers, shipping/receiving, and sales teams. The ideal candidate is a reliable team player who takes pride in doing excellent work and contributing to a well-run operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize SAP advanced planning tools to develop and maintain production schedules.
Order raw materials to meet production requirements, ensuring timely delivery.
Schedule machines and resources for optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
Generate work orders and barcode labels to streamline manufacturing processes.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability.
Communicate with sales and operations teams to address scheduling changes and resolve potential conflicts.
Assist in analyzing production performance data and suggesting process improvements.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Post-secondary education in supply chain, operations, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a strong asset.
Fluent with advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
Experience with Smartsheet, PowerBI or similar software is an asset.
Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to challenges.
Analytical mindset with a passion for working with data.
Comfortable with routine tasks and structured workflows.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
A team-first mindset and a desire to contribute long-term.
