Production Operator
Huntsman is seeking a Production Operator supporting the Polyurethanes (PU) Division located in Mississauga. This position will report to the Production Manager.
Job Scope
The Production Operator assists in the manufacturing process of spray foam insulation by performing duties such as chemical blending, drumming off finished product, unloading raw materials, pre-weighing, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
In summary, as the Production Operator, you will:Operate mixing equipment, scales, meters, pumps, and forklifts. Blend ingredients according to manufacturing formulas and production schedules. Load materials into the blender with accuracy as per formula instructions. Complete production and batch sheets. Take quality samples for inspection and approval prior to packaging. Ensure all safety and company procedures are followed at all times. Keep the work area clean, sanitary, and safe. Receive raw material shipments and prepare finished goods for shipping. Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum QualificationsCertified to operate a forklift. High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience in a chemical blending or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Ability to follow written procedures and safety guidelines. Capable of lifting and handling materials and working in a physically active environment. Basic math and measurement skills.

Skills and KnowledgeStrong attention to detail and accuracy. Team player with the ability to work independently. Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness. Good communication and documentation skills. Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Preferred QualificationsExperience operating mixers and handling chemicals. Previous experience in spray foam or chemical production. Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work flexible hours or shifts if required.

Working EnvironmentThis position involves working in a production/plant environment with exposure to chemicals and industrial equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, and handling of drums and containers is required.
