ABOUT THE ROLE



We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented

Production & Merchandise Planner

to join our team. This role combines the operational precision of production planning with the analytical insight of merchandise planning. You will be responsible for ensuring that collections are produced on time, inventory levels align with demand, and product assortments support sales growth and profitability. This is a cross-functional role that connects design/product development, production, merchandising, and sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Production Planning & Scheduling



Track seasonal production calendars based on demand forecasts, sales projections, and design timelines. Monitor and adjust production schedules to ensure efficiency and timely delivery Coordinate with factories, patternmakers, and sample teams to maintain workflow.

Purchasing & Procurement



Coordinate the purchase of fabrics, trims, packaging, and other raw materials as needed. Negotiate cost-effective deals with suppliers while maintaining quality. Ensure purchase orders are tracked and reconciled in line with budget and production timelines.

Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management



Analyze sales data and forecast demand to determine inventory levels and product mix. Partner with Product Development and sales team to plan assortments by category, style, and sales channel. Monitor stock levels, replenishment needs, and sell-through rates to maximize profitability. Recommend reorders, markdowns, or merchandising shifts based on performance.

Supplier & Vendor Coordination



Build and maintain strong relationships with factories and suppliers globally. Track production milestones and work proactively to resolve delays or quality issues. Align vendor capacities with seasonal business needs.

Reporting & Analysis



Prepare weekly/monthly reports on production status, inventory performance, and sales-to-stock ratios. Track KPIs including lead times, sell-through, margin performance, and stock turn. Provide insights to leadership on how production and merchandise strategies can be optimized.

Quality & Compliance



Support the Product Development team on reviewing third party inspections, and compliance reports.

QUALIFICATIONS



Bachelor's degree/ diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Production, Supply Chain, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in

production planning and/or merchandise planning

(preferably in apparel, swimwear, or accessories). Strong analytical and numerical skills with experience in forecasting and sales analysis. Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP, and merchandising/planning systems. Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes and seasonal buying cycles. Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to $50,000.00 per year
