As a Global Merchandise Planner, you will work closely with the Global PLM team to build mid-term and long-term product strategies that support the global business' financial and consumer objectives.

This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Global Merchandise Planning team is a cross functional group whose focus is building mid- and long-term product growth strategies who tracks & reports on a Global view of business performance. We work cross functionally to ensure our Global product plans align with the overall company's long-term financial goals, with a big voice to keep the business focused on key strategic growth plans for each season.

If you were in the Global Merchandise Planner role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:



+ Building top-down Global merchandise plans by gender & category that support our Strategic Business Plan (SBP) growth strategies. + Work with cross functional PLM teams to build and develop our Long-Term Strategic Plans (LTSP).
+ Partnering with the PLM & Merchant teams to develop and communicate an assortment strategy that considers opportunities by model and category.
+ Maximizing sales by understanding sales trends and opportunities at a strategic Global level.
+ Analyzing the historical data, trending information and other available data on product and region to develop and maintain an accurate forecast at Model and Category level, setting initial volume targets for regional teams.
+ Owning the Global demand plan driving the inventory strategy of supply & demand to support achieving company's Long Term Strategic Plans.
+ Owning reporting on Global in-season product performance, communicating trends, opportunity, and insight to senior leadership on a weekly basis.
+ Owning reporting on Global long-term product and LTSP plans to cross functional partners & senior leaders at key Go-To-Market stage gates.
+ Upholding Fair Labor Association's Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc'teryx supply chain.

+ Participating in Global Merchandise Planning improvement projects and initiatives as they arise. + Supporting in streamlining and building efficiencies into the planning process.
+ Be a part of building new processes & tools for the Global Merchandise Planning team to powerfully deliver on integrating the Long Range Product plan with the company's Long range Financial plans.

Are you our next Global Merchandise Planner?



+ You have a university degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience + You have 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning or strategy in a vertical retail business
+ You have proven experience creating and analyzing reports and have a high level of comfort working with large quantities of data
+ You are able to rationalize big sets of data into strategic insights, with the skills to communicate this effectively to various types of audiences (individual peers, senior leaders, regional teams etc...)
+ You are a self-starter who takes initiative and ownership of your business, with a big voice to communicate the 'so what' to partners and teams across the business.
+ You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
+ You have a high level of business acumen with a strategic mindset
+ You have advanced skills in Excel
+ You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
+ You can balance autonomy and collaboration
+ You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
+ Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it

$82,000 - $112,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$82,000 - CAD$112,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.

Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
