With the expansion of our facility, we are seeking a proactive and highly motivated Production Manager/Assistant Operations Manager to join our leadership team. This role is critical to the efficiency and success of our Steel Service Center. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance day-to-day production oversight with strategic operational improvements. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading team members and ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily production and maintenance activities, ensuring all processes run smoothly and efficiently. Track production schedules to meet deadlines and optimize plant capacity. Monitor production output and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs). Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot production issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and improve workflow. Manage supplies and optimize resource requirements.

Team Leadership and Development

Mentor and motivated personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Evaluate performance, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth of team members. Assist with the interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding of new employees. Resolve employee issues and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance:

Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations and company policies.*
Enforce and monitor quality control standards, ensuring all finished products meet specifications.*
Participate in and support quality initiatives.*




Process Improvement:



Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and waste reduction.

Qualifications:



3-5+ years of progressive management, supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Proven ability to manage production teams and meet production targets. Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling. Computer experience - Ability to learn ERP software and proficient with MS Office. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively across departments. Mechanical inclination to effectively manage maintenance programs and personnel.
