Role Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in optimizing workflow, driving continuous improvement, and supporting staff development across production, compounding, and warehouse functions.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

Oversee daily production operations (Filling, Packing, and Compounding) to ensure output, quality, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved. Plan and coordinate production schedules to ensure timely delivery, optimal resource allocation, and minimal downtime. Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor and other departments to plan daily work assignments and ensure material availability. Ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health and Safety (OHSA), and other applicable regulations. Drive process improvements and operational efficiency through Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities. Partner with Quality Assurance to uphold product standards and address non-conformance issues. Conduct safety walks, inspections, and audits to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
Leadership & Team Development

Lead and supervise production teams, providing training, guidance, and performance management to ensure operational excellence. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for employee growth. Oversee training and cross-training initiatives to enhance workforce flexibility and operational coverage. Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout all production areas.
Cost Control & Administration

Manage departmental budgets, monitor operational costs, and implement cost-saving measures. Conduct regular process audits, cycle counts, and year-end reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy. Investigate production and inventory issues, identify causes, and implement solutions. Prepare and maintain accurate production and compliance reports to support internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of work experience as a Production or Plant Manager in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, mechanical Engineering, or a related field. In-depth understanding of manufacturing systems, production planning, and process optimization. Knowledge of GMP, OHSA, and standard quality and safety procedures in a regulated environment. Solid grasp of budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with production or inventory management software. Proven leadership with strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Nice to Have

Experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or food manufacturing. Working knowledge of ERP or MRP systems. Certification or training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma. Experience leading automation or process improvement projects.
