We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced

Production Manager (shop floor) to help lead our dedicated team in Puslinch, ON. Working out of our 87,000 sq. ft. facility, this position will help support a team of approximately 100 hourly staff. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manufacturing Manager to manage the on the floor day-to-day operation of our Manufacturing department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage Supervisors and oversee the Manufacturing department in a metal fabrication /welding environment to ensure efficiency, quality and safety standards Relentlessly observe work methods, review labour utilization and production output to identify opportunities for continuous improvement Present improvement proposals Implement improvements diligently and comprehensively Work in a hands-on manner (ability to weld/fit), to fully understand current processes and methods, as well as to evaluate and determine potential areas of improvement Maximize productivity of staff by monitoring and communicating targets, accountabilities and expectations Conduct reports regarding production output and efficiency, quality, labour requirements, etc. and address any discrepancies or concerns Enforce and administer safety regulations; championing health and safety within the manufacturing department Complete job evaluations, interviews, disciplines, and all other documentation related to human resource functions as required Work cooperatively and diligently with other departments as required Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements Attend various meetings as a representative of the manufacturing department Other related duties as required

Qualifications:

Experience in a Manager or Supervisor role within a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication/welding and assembly) Hands-on experience with steel welding (MIG) and fitting Demonstrated understanding of welding and fitting with the ability to review current work methods, fixtures and tooling to identify areas of improvement Working experience or knowledge of mechanical assembly (specifically steel based machinery) Strong conceptual, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills Demonstrated skills in planning, documentation and time management Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
