Tempel is America's largest manufacturer of magnetic laminations for the motor and transformer industry, dating back to 1945. With manufacturing facilities in USA, Canada, Mexico, China, and India we continue to be a fast-growing industrial manufacturer providing a full range of highly efficient transformer components at our facility in Burlington Ontario, where we have been since 1975.

Our primary products out of this location are Wound Distributed Gap Cores, Mitre and Butt Lap Laminations, Logs and Fully Assembled Cores in our Flat Stack Department, Steel Sales, Custom Slitting and a warehousing for Tempel Steel's laminations.

Driven by the company's continued success, growth has led to the development of a new 200,000 sq ft facility at the intersection of Hwy 407 and Appleby Line.

Job Summary:



The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient production of high product while managing resources and personnel to meet established production targets. This role involves planning, coordinating, implementing operations, managing staff, and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency all in an effort to reduce costs.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:



Ensure departmental Health and Safety compliance through shop floor leadership Oversee the entire production process, from planning to completion Ensure production goals are met while maintaining quality standards Manage production schedules and resources allocation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes Monitor production costs and implementing cost-saving strategies Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets Develop production schedules and maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work Produce production reports through the collection of data Liaise with other departments and supervise staff members Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement Create a positive working environment which is committed to excellence, by demonstrating personal commitment to these ideals Manage personnel performance, including employee reviews, disciplinary action, time and attendance, overtime assignments, employee training Support the performance of others to meet the goals and objectives of the business in the delivery, quality and cost of its products. Ensure compliance and commitment to the effectiveness of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements during daily operations

Required Qualifications:



At least 5 years' experience in Manufacturing/Operations Management Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices. Strong leadership and team management abilities Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access Excellent communication skills both verbal and written A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization. Ability to look at situations from several points of view Delegate responsibilities effectively High comfort level working in a diverse environment Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
