Production Line Worker (full Time)

Riverton, MB, CA, Canada

Job Description

??JOB DESCRIPTION - PRODUCTION LINE WORKER

At ECBVerdyol, we product top-quality erosion control blankets and straw wattles for customers across the region. Join a growing team where you'll build new skills, work safely, and enjoy great benefits.

(A) Safety

The Production Line Worker ("Worker") is, together with the entire staff, responsible for the safety of all employees. It is required that all safety rules are strictly adhered to and enforced as per ErosionControlBlanket.com, Inc. (the "Company") policies and procedures. No person shall be in the production area without proper protective equipment. The Worker is responsible for reporting any incidents that have occurred during his/her shift to their direct supervisor, the Production Manager. All new employees must be trained/instructed as per Company procedures and the training must be documented accordingly. In addition, all employees must initial and submit each page of the Policy and Procedure Manual which outlines safety procedures.

(B) Tools and Equipment

Any Worker may require, from time to time, the training required to do various repairs to the production machines. In addition, Production Line Workers may be called upon to assist in the repair and/or maintenance of production machinery as required. The proper understanding, maintenance, and repair of this equipment are critical in maintaining a proper flow of production at the plant. All employees on the line must take an active role and work as a team to maintain and conduct emergency repairs on machinery as quickly as possible. However, the Worker does not have direct responsibility for equipment maintenance nor are they responsible for security each night.

The tool crib will be given restricted access and will be made accessible to authorized persons only. The Production Manager will delegate access only to necessary individuals and will be responsible for all tools and equipment in said areas.

(C) Quality of Product

Quality is paramount in all aspects of production at the Company. To that end, specific quality standards are outlined on form PD-006 which each employee on the Production Line must be familiar with. It is each employee's responsibility on the Line to monitor every aspect of production to ensure that only the highest quality product leaves the plant. If any flaws, as outlined in Form PD-006, are found at any time it is every employee's responsibility to inform the Team Leader or Production Manager immediately. In cases of significant damage to product during production, as judged by any employee, the machine is to be shut down and production suspended until the source of faults is identified and corrected.

The Worker is expected to demonstrate an adequate level of quality in service they provide to the company in terms of accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism. If, at any time, the Worker feels that these standards cannot be maintained for any reason, or if any safety hazards are noticed during the course of work, they must notify management immediately. The Worker, however, is indirectly responsible for over-all quality. He/she may be lectured for poor quality but unlikely to be reprimanded.

(D) Assisting Trainees

The Worker may be asked to mentor or monitor trainees but this function would be very rare and would only be required for like positions.

(E) Documentation/Paperwork

The Worker may be expected to do small amounts of documentation/paperwork or may be required to provide certain data. This may consist of Stenlog sheets, straw bale forms, etc.

(F) Upkeep of Yard and Buildings

The Worker may be asked to assist in specific yard duties but has no direct responsibility for the yard.

(G) Production Demands

The Worker's actions have a direct effect on production results. The Worker has significant control over variables such as machinery controls, housekeeping, etc.

The Production Line Worker is a versatile position. Each Worker must assist the Production Manager in any way necessary to ensure the smooth, daily operations of the line. This position can encompass the operation of the Bale Buster Machine, strapping and packaging completed product, making stenlogs when necessary, assisting the Team Leader in monitoring production of blankets or filling in any position directly related to the production of product on the floor (commonly referred to as the "Rover"). Specific positioning of Workers will be at the discretion of management.

(H) General Responsibility

The impact on and protection of the environment is an important aspect of any action taken by the company. As such, it is the duty of each employee to notify the Company of any happenings at the Plant that they feel may be having a negative impact, in any way, on the environment. All actions taken by the Company are to be done so in an environmentally friendly manner (Dangerous material shall be stored in approved containers. Any spills must be reported and cleaned up properly, see Safety Manual). Other general responsibilities may include:

Company Health and Safety Board Attendance Housekeeping Responding to company emergencies Attending training and educational sessions as required by the company Filling in for production staff for limited periods of time and functions Any other duties as may be outlined and instructed by the company
(I) Professional Conduct

The Worker shall, at all times, conduct him/herself in dealings with employees, management, suppliers, customers or official representatives in a responsible and professional manner. All employees of the company are to adhere to the Company's Team Member Code of Ethics (see Policies and Procedures Manual) at all times. A positive attitude is expected at all times.
