Job Summary
The overriding purpose of Production Information Technicians is to use existing software and procedures to translate 1D measures and job specifications into information the facility and field can use for the manufacture, installation, and quality control of our products.
The Production Information Technician Will
- Use existing legacy software and systems to process orders for production
- Follow the direction of the branch manager in relation to Global Purchasing
- Complete work as assigned, in the time frame assigned within the permitted margins of error
- Check the work delegated for errors and omissions, be responsible for quality standards within the permitted margins of error
- Produce shop drawings and cutting patterns
- Host and document PC start-up meetings, team meetings and other relevant as mutually discussed and agreed upon as a PC standard
- Be responsible for validating colour allocations, with the same scale of errors/omissions deemed acceptable
- Train and mentor junior staff
- Provide clear, written suggestions about how to improve team performance
- Provide clear, written suggestions about how to improve, alter, or change process, product, or technologies within the company as aligned with our values and goals
- Understand and exemplify our company values, as described
- Use existing legacy software and systems to prepare accurate P01's, displays, parts requests and back orders in the timeframe allotted by the branch manager
- Work with the team and exhibit exceptional communication in learning Bensons' shop drawing and
- Identify space for efficiencies and making constructive contributions to streamline or change current processes
- Test product design and viability
- Strategic Project work as assigned
- Assist in global purchasing and take offs
Qualifying Requirements
- Legally permitted to work in Canada (no support for out of country applicants)
- Post-secondary in a relevant field (engineering, secondary wood processing, drafting, interior design)
- Extensive computer use including the entire MS suite
- Extensive use of Cabinet Vision software is a requirement
- Proven ability to track work
- Proven ability to work accurately
- Ability to work in metric
