Primary Focus
In conjunction with the rest of the Management Team, the Foreman's role is critical for ensuring product quality and product orders are completed in timely manner. The responsibility includes identifying and addressing issues relating to the orders and quality of product on an on-going basis as well as prioritizing tasks and coordinating work efforts with the majority of focus directed towards the pack off area.
Accountabilities / Direct
Assist with pre-op and set up each morning.
Meet with the Production leader to review daily production schedule and discuss priorities and action plans for work flow completion.
Observe the production start-up process and share findings with the Production leader to make any necessary adjustments
Monitors daily production schedule progress towards achievement of goals at regular intervals and takes action, as required
Meet with the Production leader throughout the day to share information to confirm work flow completion, if goals were not achieved, provide the Production leader with the rationale and corrective measures.
Ensures production compliance with all SFCR rules and regulations.
Focuses on continuous improvement, and staying current with leading edge processes and techniques.
Supply any new tools and PPE to employees as needed
Report any potential equipment problems by submitting maintenance request forms (work order) to the maintenance team as well as the Production leader.
Actively promote a healthy workplace focusing on positive working relationships.
In collaboration with the Production leader and HR Manager, communicate performance improvement measures, completes regular performance appraisals of direct reports and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Report all incidents, accidents and near misses to the Production leader.
Works in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other relevant government legislation.
Responsible for ensuring all employees follow SOPs, GMPs, etc.
Other duties may be assigned from time to time
Required Skills / Experience & Abilities
High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical degree preferred.
Strong communication skills.
The ability to train and lead employees.
3 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
Meat knowledge or experience in the Meat industry experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
Ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
