We are currently seeking Engineering Interns for the role of

Production Engineer Intern

to join our dynamic team on a 12 month fixed-term basis for the duration of the internship.

This is an excellent opportunity for new graduates in Engineering who are passionate about Mechanical Engineering and eager to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Position Description:


The Production Engineer is responsible for implementing production processes and procedures that lead to safety, quality and productivity improvements, and reductions of lead time and operating cost.

Rate of pay:


The rate of pay will be

$25

per hour. Wages are payable bi-weekly and by direct bank deposit.

Hours of work:


Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with 30 minutes allocated for lunch equal to an 8-hour work day Monday to Friday. However, flexibility in times may be required depending on the assigned projects.

EDUCATION



Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or similar

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Work in compliance with Safety, Environmental, Quality and Production Systems.

Manage project KPIs and ensure preventative actions are taken to maximize success.

Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions

Ensure product and process quality meets required specifications

Participate in root cause and corrective action events related to quality and health and safety issues.

Participate with teams in optimizing plant layout and production flow

Design fixtures and tooling to aid manufacturing tasks

Review production data and perform measurements to provide analysis on opportunities for improvement to efficiencies and capabilities.

Review part handling and ergonomics of work centers and recommend improvements based on research of best practices.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in Continuous Improvement events and provide support to teams in completing their event actions.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:



High level of analytical skills in interpreting data and problem solving

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Detail oriented with excellent time management awareness

Familiar with manufacturing processes, particularly in machining, assembly and metal finishing.

Familiar with quality management standards such as IS09001/AS9100.

Knowledge of ERP/MRP software systems.

Capable of reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.

Be able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
