Teine Energy Ltd. is currently seeking a full-time
Production Engineer
to join our Calgary office and support our Viking Asset in Saskatchewan. Reporting directly to the Asset/Production Manager, this role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering graduate to gain hands-on experience and develop a strong technical foundation within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing production operations, analyzing field data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve asset performance. Key Responsibilities:
Support daily production monitoring to ensure base production and capital oil forecasts are being met using Spotfire and Power BI PDP reporting tools.
Assist with production testing compliance, test accuracy, and well production profiling to ensure alignment with type curves and exploitation guidelines.
Collaborate with the Operations Team to achieve production and operating expense targets by identifying and implementing optimization opportunities to reduce downtime, minimize workovers, and support chemical program reviews.
Participate in evaluating new technologies and innovations in collaboration with Engineering and Operations team.
Provide detailed production data and technical observations to field leadership, assisting with well-monthly reviews.
Support oil well optimization efforts through reported well monitoring via SCADA, DV8, and Watchdog.
Assist in assessing low rate well profitability and recommend well for shut in/recycling.
Monitor GHG emissions and ensure all corporate and regulatory targets are met.
Work alongside Facility Engineers/Technologists on capital project economic justification and facility expansion projects.
Schedule regular field visits to meet with Operations team and discuss ongoing production challenges and provide engineering insights.
Supervise minor workovers as required.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred).
2 - 5+ years of prior experience in a production, field, or operations-related engineering role would be considered a strong asset (co-op or internship experience welcome).
Clean driver's abstract.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using PVR, Spotfire, Power BI, and GeoScout would be an asset.
Working knowledge of conventional oil and gas field operations is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
Strong decision-making, prioritization, and organizational skills.
