12-Month Co-Op Opportunity (January 2023 - December 2023)
for a STUDENT in a Co-Op Program

Summary:

Participates in drafting GMP documents. Support the coordination, tracking, and execution of site projects. Assists with collecting data and executing trials, qualifications, and feasibility studies.

Essential Functions:

  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or Forms
  • Maintain spreadsheets and logs required to track in-process and completed documents
  • Develops project management plans and schedules
  • Supports the Engineering department in the execution of equipment Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and qualifications
  • Supports the Technical Operations department with process executions
  • Explores production efficiency improvement ideas
  • Maintains a safe working environment and reports potential hazards.
  • Prepares an end of end-of-term presentation to Leadership team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Enrolled in a post-secondary diploma in Chemistry, Engineering, Science or related field. BSc in Chemistry or Engineering is an asset.

Experience:
  • Previous experience with Pharmaceutical Manufacturing is an asset.
  • Previous experience in statistical analysis and data compilation is an asset.
Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills. Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy. Works well with limited supervision and takes full ownership of assigned work. .Excellent time management skills. Project management skills preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Proficiency with the English language.

Standards and Expectations:

Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modeling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance with Patheon quality systems Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner. Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field.

Physical Requirements:

Light physical effort and fatigue. Walks sits or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for a limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Use of Personal Protective equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, and respirator on occasionally.
