Production Cook



We are looking for one skilled and experienced prep/production cook to join our culinary team in a brand new role! This person will be responsible for the production of our signature dips for all 5 locations within Mamakas Food Group. This role will be suited to those who prefer to work early mornings, 6am start will be required.

Compensation: $18 an hour to start + health benefits package after 3 months of employment (for full time employees)

Summary of Responsibilities:



Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Prepare all recipes perfectly according to recipe specifications This role will require you to produce large scale amounts of our signature dips as well as some other prep assistance This role will require you to work alone with little to no supervision Assist in product ordering and inventory maintenance of prep related items, inspecting items as they arrive for quality, and communicating any and all shortages or issues to the Chef in a timely manner Help coordinate production as it relates to restaurant and banquet functions Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage Schedule: Mornings/Daytime, some weekends and holidays may be required (6am start) - schedule to be discussed with Chef Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:



Previous experience in the Culinary field required (2+ years in a high volume kitchen/food prep or production role is required) Must have strong culinary knowledge Must be available to work full time/5 shifts a week, 40-50 hours a week - 6am start time, end times vary and will be determined by daily par levels Must be able to work with little supervision Must have a strong ability to follow and execute recipes perfectly Strong math skills/ability to scale recipes accurately Knowledge and experience with various kitchen equipment is required Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment Ability to work cohesively as part of a team Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):



Constant standing and walking throughout shift Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling Occasional ascending or descending ladders Frequent ascending/descending stairs
