Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented

Production Assistant

with deep knowledge of

sheet metal manufacturing

to support daily production operations. This role is responsible for entering and tracking work orders, following jobs through the production process, logging orders and packing slips, and assisting with accurate entry of manufacturing steps into our production system. The ideal candidate understands shop-floor workflows and can bridge communication between production, scheduling, and shipping.

Responsibilities

Enter, release, and maintain

work orders

in the manufacturing system Track jobs through all

sheet metal production stages

(cutting, forming, welding, finishing, etc.) Monitor job status and follow up with production teams to ensure schedules are met Log and verify

orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation

Accurately enter and update

manufacturing steps, routings, and tracking

in the system Assist with production reporting, job close-outs, and inventory-related documentation Communicate production status, delays, and issues to management Support general production and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

Strong working knowledge of

sheet metal manufacturing processes

Experience with

work order entry and production tracking

High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Ability to understand shop drawings, routings, and production steps Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a

sheet metal shop or fabrication environment

Basic understanding of scheduling, inventory, and shipping processes Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
