Job Description


An exciting opportunity for Production Assembly Technician, this is a permanent opportunity with Qvella Corporation located in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Nature and Scope of Work

Responsible for meeting daily assembly production objectives by performing required tasks including parts preparation and inspection, devices assembly and testing in accordance with established procedures. Assist in the prototyping, validation, documentation and scale-up of production processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Meet daily production assembly requirements by following engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials and other written instructions to accurately assemble/test microfluidic devices.
  • Self-inspect one\xe2\x80\x99s own work and identify defects to ensure compliance with established quality standard.
  • Maintain the integrity of production facility including organizing/cleaning work stations, maintaining inventory of product in work stations and assisting production cycle count.
  • Coordinate with production planner to ensure the accuracy and delivery of planned production orders.
  • Assist with writing, implementing, and maintaining production processes and quality related documentation as directed by the supervisor/manager.
  • Analyze testing data, interpret results and report findings and conclusions through written and oral presentations.
  • Assist in production process improvement and product validation projects
  • Work with quality team to monitor product quality, improve process yield and reduce waste.
  • Work closely with team members for accuracy and completion of production order in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 5 years hands-on experience in small-scale device assembly industry with particular interest in experience gained in pharmaceutical, biomedical, IVD or other related industry.
  • High level of proficiency in understanding engineering drawings, handling general lab tools and equipment.
  • Attention to details, highly organized, flexible, persistent and proactive way of working.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proven track record of fast learning and multitasking ability. Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding of work safety requirements/regulations and quality GMP/ISO methodology.
  • Work well in a small team and be able to handle the pressure of meeting tight deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good MS-Office skills
Education
  • University or college degree in applied science, mechanical engineering or other related fields.
