We're looking for a Product Owner to join our team and help bridge the gap between vision and execution. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you'll work closely with our development team to transform high-level product concepts into clear, actionable plans that drive innovation and deliver value.

In this role, you'll own the product roadmap, prioritize features based on data and customer needs, and guide the development process from ideation to launch. You'll also serve as a key communicator across departments, ensuring everyone is aligned and equipped for success.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Creating clear feature requirements, including defining product success criteria and metrics. Acting as primary contact for the entire company providing regular updates product progress through the product roadmap. Analyzing and reporting on market trends, user activity, and feedback. Transforming the high-level, strategic direction provided by ActiveDEMAND's vision into clear, detailed, and actionable requirements for the development team, including writing user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria. Managing the product backlog and roadmap. Making data-driven decisions on feature prioritization based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility. Collaborate closely with the development team to plan and define sprint goals, ensuring timely delivery of the highest-priority work and clarifying requirements throughout the cycle. Cultivating a comprehensive understanding of the product's technical aspects, API capabilities, and system architecture to guide development choices and set realistic timelines. Serve as a subject matter expert on the product's features and functionalities, demonstrating advanced navigation and troubleshooting skills to guide both internal teams and external stakeholders. Drafting Statements of Work (SOWs) based on requirements for custom client or partner features and projects. Oversee product launches and releases, ensuring a smooth transition by preparing and training all internal teams (Sales, Support, Marketing) on new features. Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for all audiences, including developer specifications, internal team release notes, and client-facing user guides and knowledge base articles. Actively seek out and synthesize customer feedback and product usage metrics to identify pain points, root causes of issues, and User Experience (UX) improvement opportunities. Monitor market trends and competitor features to inform and validate product strategy and ensure the product maintains its sales advantages. Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions, both internally and externally, to ensure adoption and a deep understanding of the product's capabilities. Demonstrate a high level of initiative and ownership, consistently addressing challenges, proposing solutions, and following through on all commitments with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS



Education and Experience:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications such as Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Product Manager (CPM), and Pragmatic Institute Certifications (PMC) are considered an asset 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Business Analyst role (preferably within a SaaS company). 1+ year of experience in wireframing, prototyping, user research, and user testing is highly desirable. Experience in Marketing Automation or a related B2B/Enterprise software domain is an asset. Proven ability to work directly with engineering teams, define technical requirements, understand API functionality, and make data-driven decisions Deep working experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, including running grooming sessions, sprint planning, defining user stories with clear acceptance criteria, and managing a prioritized backlog Experience overseeing product releases from end-to-end, including creating content for sales/support teams and delivering internal or external training/demos.
Skills and Knowledge:

Exceptional customer service skills, including demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and manage conflict in a professional manner. Strong understanding of application quality assurance and control. Strong understanding of user-centred design and usability principles. Proficient in creating detailed user documentation and guidelines. Ability to maintain accurate product documentation, including developing Statements of Work (SOWs), release notes, feature specifications, and technical requirements. Proficient understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning sprints and maintaining the product roadmap. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely technical support. Excellent communication skills with the ability to create clear documentation and provide effective product demos. Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Zendesk, Slack). Strong working knowledge of the following technologies and software: HTML, CSS (SCSS), Javascript is considered an asset. Proficient understanding and/or working knowledge of Ruby on Rails, full-stack development, and iOS/Android development is considered an asset. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment, including providing training and support to the Support, Sales, and Marketing teams. Excellent verbal and written communication with team members, including extremely effective public speaking skills and presence. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines. Outstanding organizational skills.
