Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien and Nutrien Ag Solutions.The Cereals Product Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of the product portfolio which includes but not limited to growing sales, market share, margin, and profitability. The goal is to increase sales, profitability, market share and brand recognition. This role, reporting to the Director Seed Product Management, North America will contribute to driving robust multi-year product plans for the Nutrien Ag Solutions Seed shelf, with a primary focus on Proven Seed in North America.In addition, this role will be a key contributing member of the North American Crop Team and collaborate with Sales, Seed Marketing, Strategic Suppliers, Digital, Agronomy, and other key functions to help drive comprehensive seed crop strategy plans for both the U.S. and Canada.What you will do:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the product portfolio which includes but not limited to manage all proprietary and third-party products of the product lines and develop short and long-term business plans that include forecasts and accurately anticipating future market demand, project sales, and identify pricing, margin and profitability opportunities.
  • Manage the product lifecycle management which includes production guidance, volumes, product launches, and marketing plans to maximize the revenue from all products throughout the lifecycle.
  • Responsible for taking a broader prospective of the impact that the product portfolio has to the entire pipeline sales, marketing, and margin opportunity.
  • Responsible for inventory management and ensure that supply aligns with demand and inventory is managed for maximum sales and margin.
  • Responsible for all supplier contacts including but not limited to large multi nationals and also many smaller suppliers.
  • Responsible for all aspects of human resource management of departmental staff including hiring, promoting, performance development/management, coaching and human resource policies, disciplining and discharging within company policy. Create an environment that fosters teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Recommend product sales volumes for budgeting purposes and production volumes.
  • May recommend product pricing with approval from Director.
  • Develop direction on profitability, supply, inventory, margin, and discount targets with approval from Director.
  • Responsible for product allocation to regions and districts.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and strategic intelligence to be positioned to anticipate new market opportunities.
  • Responsible to understand the opportunities and limitations associated with developing optimum product portfolio.
  • Develop advertising and promotion plans and coordinate the seed brand position within the scope of the overall corporate brand strategy.
  • Responsible for understanding market needs today and in the future by utilizing many information sources to synthesize future demand and ensure the product portfolio is aligned to meet the market needs at a profit.
  • Responsible for deciding markets to enter and exit and developing the rationale for these decisions.
  • Develop, promote, and build on the existing brand franchise value.
  • Create and build positive relationships with industry and government organizations that impact and influence the sales and marketing success of the product line.
What you will bring:
  • 4 Year university degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or related field. Master\'s degree preferred (e.g., MSc, MBA).
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in retail and/or Basic Manufacturer agronomy, sales, or marketing in an agriculture-related field. Agricultural crop product management experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to correspond with a variety of team members and stakeholders comfortably and professionally at all levels of the organization and customer base.
  • High proficiency with experimental design and analysis, developing analytical insights from data, and visualization and communication of insights for presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to articulate long-term plans with short-term benchmarks and objectives.
  • Proven success managing multiple projects at the same time.
  • Track-record working with teams to achieve a common goal.
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others not under your management control.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership responsibilities and in cross-functional teams.
  • Technical proficiency with a variety of software applications and aptitude of business analytics.
  • Ability to build trust with others and demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
