Job Description

The Photographer will work under the direction of theCreative Lead.

In general, you will be carrying out activities and duties to create visual assets for Tonic Living and the Creative department. You will execute photography for beauty, lifestyle, product, and brand-related imagery, ensuring high-quality photos that align with brand aesthetics.

More specifically these activities will include:

Photography



Product Photography Shoot and style Tonic Living fabric, pillows, ottomans and accessories on white seamless in the Tonic Living studio. Style/shoot products according to the Tonic Living product listing requirements in order to highlight design details and craftsmanship. Lifestyle Photography Support the Creative Lead in executing their vision for styled scenarios that highlight the Tonic Living product collection and brand image. Execute photography primarily for lifestyle/beauty shoots, and secondarily for store, facility and the Tonic team when needed. Manage lighting, and work with the Creative Lead/ Stylist on composition and angles to capture visually compelling images. Photo Editing Edit, colour correct, retouch and crop all product and lifestyle images Maintain consistency with brand aesthetic and visual standards. Lifestyle and product photography is needed on an on-going basis throughout the year for: Product launches (2-3 collections per year, with product launches spanning 1-2 months each) Content for collection, product category, seasonal and promotional campaigns. Platforms that include: website, social media, blogs, email marketing and print assets Organize and maintain a library of digital creative assets, ensuring proper storage and accessibility. Be willing to assist moving/arranging furniture and props as needed for shoots.

Equipment



You will have access to Tonic Living in-house photography equipment and programs. Ensure all photography and video equipment is properly maintained, organized, and stored securely. Perform regular equipment checks and report any technical issues or required repairs to the Creative Lead. Manage inventory of photography gear, including cameras, lighting, backdrops, and props. Research and identify equipment needs for the creative department. Communicate with Creative Lead to prioritize and approve new equipment purchases.

Video



Shoot and edit simple video assets of either product silos or lifestyle subject matter.

Non-Negotiables:



Experience in photographing residential interiors (and product) is a must, and an interest in the home decor industry will be to your advantage. A minimum of 5 years of industry experience is required. Proficiency in using professional photography equipment and editing programs: DSLR camera (manual settings), lighting, strobe, stands and booms, Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom and Photoshop). A keen attention and eye for detail, ability to take feedback and work collaboratively, and strong communication and organizational skills will be essential.
All photography will be done on-site at Tonic Living (unless otherwise specified for shoots on location). Various phases of photo editing can be done through a combination of being on-site at Tonic Living and remote.
