Our established client is a precision manufacturer of steel products used around the world. Their Canadian division in Burlington has an immediate opening for a Product Engineering "guru". This role is perfect for someone with 5+ years' of hands-on experience in supporting production processes, productivity improvements and supporting all manufacturing areas. Suitable candidates will have a degree in Metallurgical, Materials, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and an enthusiastic desire to work in a team environment that actively contributes to the ongoing GROWTH of the company, locally and globally!

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Engineering support for all production processes, including support of training initiatives, productivity improvements and support of all manufacturing areas
  • Support sales, customers and procurement through your knowledge of relevant materials and processes
  • Develop relevant knowledge and skill set to become a significant resource who can then direct and troubleshoot processes and applications
  • Investigate failures and make improvement recommendations for corrective actions
  • Provide written and/or oral reports to engineering management as necessary
  • Perform inspection and testing of materials and finished products
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Management deemed necessary to accomplish objectives
Job Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree (minimum) in Metallurgical, Materials, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in a steel processing manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic, electrical or materials engineering principles
  • Ability to work as a member of an integrated, interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze schematics and engineering drawings
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient in the use and troubleshooting of test equipment such as digital multi-meters, power analysers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work under minimal supervision, with management guidance
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 4 times/year - passport required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated abilities with electrical, electronic and mechanical devices
