Job Description

Grey Goat Hardware is hiring a Product Development Engineer with at least a year of experience in the

glass hardware industry

. This role supports end-to-end product development--from concept and CAD design through engineering drawings, prototyping, and validation. You'll work closely with our Product R&D team to develop new hardware systems and improve existing products, with a strong focus on manufacturability, quality, and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design and develop glass hardware products (e.g., railing hardware, spigots, door rail systems, etc.) from concept to release Create and maintain

SolidWorks

3D models (parts/assemblies) and detailed 2D drawings Produce

AutoCAD

drawings/layouts where required (installation drawings, templates, etc.) Prepare engineering packages: BOMs, specifications, tolerances, materials/finishes, and revision control Collaborate with suppliers/manufacturers on manufacturability, cost reduction, and production improvements Support prototype builds and testing; refine designs based on results and feedback Perform basic engineering calculations and assist with

FEA (Ansys Workbench)

as needed Work with internal teams (sales/quoting/operations) to support technical requirements and product quoting Maintain organized documentation and ensure designs follow internal standards and industry expectations
Skills & Qualifications

Minimum a year

of product development experience specifically in the

glass hardware industry

Advanced SolidWorks

(assemblies, configurations, drawings, design intent)

Advanced AutoCAD

(2D drafting, technical layouts) Working knowledge of manufacturing methods (machining, casting, extrusion, sheet metal, fasteners) Strong understanding of tolerances, fit/function, and design-for-manufacturing principles Experience with prototype/test cycles and implementing design improvements Ansys Workbench experience is a strong asset (basic structural analysis is sufficient) Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,400.00-$45,000.00 per year
