Purpose:

As the Product Development Chemist, you will perform sample analysis for product recommendations for sales, develop and implement new technologies and industrial speciality chemical products as recognized by the company for potential markets. Promote cooperative team environment and support the product development process from idea to product launch.

Scope:

? Provide support to quality control and general support for all lab activities.

? Conduct sample analysis and provide product recommendation to sales staff.

? Support laboratory compliance activities, government reporting and classification of products under GHS and TDG.

? Develop new products for application to Guardian markets and evaluate them for chemical and physical properties, performance and stability.

? Improve current formulations of products when needed.

? Research new raw material and formulations and review existing formulations for potential improvements.

? Respond to technical problem solving and support sales staff - Troubleshooting.

? Serve as a resource for general technical information.

? Collaborate with staff on technical matters within the lab and other departments as required.

What you will bring:

? BSc (Honours Specialization) in Chemistry.

? Knowledge and skills in R&D and laboratory procedures working with chemicals, instrumentations and computers.

? Knowledge and skills in chemical procedures and test method development.

? Excellent interpersonal communication.

? The ability to work independently or within a group sharing information and assisting others.

? Ability to work under strict time constraints.

? Ability to troubleshoot, research, develop, document, setup and maintain new processes in the lab.
